Overview & Highlights

Starbucks Downhill Tagaytay is more than just a coffee shop—it’s a destination where the world-famous Starbucks experience meets the breathtaking vistas of Taal Volcano and its serene lake. Situated at Purok 162 Tagaytay - Calamba Rd, this branch offers a perfect escape for coffee lovers and nature enthusiasts alike, blending aromatic brews with a stunning, relaxing atmosphere.

The menu here uniquely balances classic Starbucks favorites with local twists, catering to a variety of tastes. If you’re craving something to complement your drink, their sandwiches and salads stand out—try the Chicken BBQ sandwich, made with soft, cheesy bread enveloping tender chicken breast sauteed in rich BBQ sauce, a delightful harmony of smoky and savory flavors. For a classic, comforting bite, the Spam Classic, Egg & Cheese on Potato Bread offers a nostalgic Filipino favorite elevated with perfectly scrambled parsley eggs and melting cheddar cheese. The Turkey Ham, Egg White & Cheese served on a wholesome whole English muffin is a lighter option that doesn’t skimp on flavor.

For drinks, the offerings are as enticing as the views. The Toffee Nut Crunch Latte, with its warm, buttery toffee nut notes layered over a silky espresso base, is a treat both hot and iced. If you prefer something cooler, the Peppermint Mocha Cream Frappuccino® is a festive favorite—blended mocha mingles with refreshing peppermint syrup, crowned with whipped cream, mocha drizzle, and candy cane sprinkles. Tea lovers will appreciate the unique Pure Matcha And Espresso Fusion, delivering a smooth, invigorating balance of rich espresso and subtly sweetened matcha green tea, or the refreshing Iced Shaken Black Tea with Ruby Grapefruit and Honey, which masterfully blends traditional black tea with bright, citrusy fruit bits and natural honey sweetness.

Beyond the menu, what truly defines Starbucks Downhill Tagaytay is its ambiance and panoramic setting. Many visitors cherish the cozy yet spacious interior as well as the inviting outdoor seating options that offer sweeping, unobstructed views of the iconic Taal Volcano crater and its shimmering lake. Customers like Kevin Andal praise the relatively quiet atmosphere here compared to other branches, making it ideal for reflective solitude or intimate conversations. The ample parking and accommodating staff who assist with photo opportunities add to the overall customer-friendly experience.

Of course, this popular spot can draw crowds, especially on weekends. As shared by Mijamin Gil Andres, lines can be a bit long on busy days, but patience is rewarded with quality service and the chance to soak in the picturesque setting. Most guests agree that while the coffee prices are at the premium end—as expected from Starbucks—what you’re truly paying for is the ambiance and memorable views. JOSE PAULO DE JESUS perfectly sums it up: “You don’t come here just for the coffee. It’s the ambiance and the stunning scenery that truly refresh you.”

That said, there’s honest feedback too. Some guests, like Joanne Bodanio, note that certain pastries like the cinnamon offering may not fully meet expectations, tending more towards a croissant style rather than the classic cinnamon roll experience. Others suggest minor improvements in service atmosphere or noise levels, such as the holiday music volume mentioned by Freddie. Nevertheless, these nuances do little to detract from the overall charm.

Whether you come to unwind with a comforting sandwich and expertly crafted latte, or simply to capture the breathtaking vista in a serene setting, Starbucks Downhill Tagaytay offers a blend of sensory pleasure and scenic delight. This spot is particularly suited for couples seeking a romantic date venue, solo visitors wanting a peaceful coffee break, or friends catching up over seasonal beverages.

For those exploring Tagaytay, topping off your itinerary with a visit here offers a harmonious blend of flavor, relaxation, and inspiration elevated by one of the most iconic natural backdrops in the Philippines. Starbucks Downhill Tagaytay truly is a meeting place of comfort and beauty—where every sip is accompanied by a view that lingers long after you leave.

Visitor Testimonials (5078)

its a Sunday, so its blockbuster! you have to wait in line for 30mins or so... anyway, its worth the wait. kudos to all the crews who are very patient in dealing with toxic customers.

The staff is nice and they won’t make you wait to get your cup of coffee unlike the other branch that has a queue. You also have a choice to sit outside for the view but my girlfriend and I chose to sit inside. The blueberry cheesecake was fantastic! The view was also nice.

Pale tasteless expensive latte, but you don't go to Starbucks for the coffee. This place is new and was busy serving, at a guess, well heeled young Manileños down for the weekend, hoping to see Taal smoke. Spacious and nicely decorated. Good parking. Nice staff. Verdict: here for a date maybe? Zus for good cheap coffee. McDo for the same view, better coffee, and with a meal thrown in, for less than a SB coffee.

The view was absolutely amazing and would definitely recommend people come here for the view and photos. The line to order wasn't long at all (close to no waiting infact) and the people working there were all super friendly. The waiting time for the drinks as well didn't take long and I had a great time. My only issue was the speaker outside playing their Christmas songs was way too loud and when I asked if they could it. They said they can only lower it a little as the speaker on the inside and the speaker outside could not be controlled separately (inside speaker was subtle & outside was like it was at 80%).

My girlfriend has always mentioned wanting to drive to this Starbucks in Tagaytay because she loves the view. Sure, the coffee is a bit pricey—which is expected—but you don’t come here just for the coffee. It’s the ambiance and the stunning scenery that truly refresh you.

I really like the ambiance at Starbucks Calamba Road — it’s cozy and relaxing, especially during weekdays when it’s not too crowded. The coffee and food are great as always, but one thing I noticed was that one of the servers would look at me like I couldn’t afford anything. It felt a bit off and unwelcoming. Also, I wasn’t too happy with their take-out system — my orders were packed in two separate paper bags without a holder, which was a bit inconvenient since it felt like they didn’t notice I had to carry both. Other than that, it’s still a nice place to hang out if you’re looking for a quiet spot in Tagaytay.

This one is much better compare to Hiraya branch if you're looking for a more silent atmosphere. Lot of parking as well in front and other level. Parking assistant are accommodating on taking pictures for the visitors.

Starbucks Downhill Tagaytay has a beautiful location with a wide view of Taal Volcano and the lake. The place is spacious and relaxing — perfect for coffee lovers who want to enjoy the scenery. We tried their cinnamon pastry, but it was more like a croissant than the original cinnamon roll, which was a bit disappointing. It also gets quite crowded, so it’s hard to get the best spot to enjoy the view. Still, the coffee and the amazing scenery made the visit worth it.
